Why we do what we do

Hi my name is Kristel de Groot, co-founder of Your Super.

I know it’s not always easy to stay healthy. Just a few years ago Michael, my boyfriend, had cancer at age 24. He had no energy after his chemo treatments and was anything but healthy.

It reminded me of when I was 12 and the same thing had happened to my mom.

Determined to stay positive, I bought all of these loose bags of maca, wheatgrass, barley grass, chia seeds, spirulina, lucuma, flax seeds, you name it!

My cabinets were chaotic, as my aunt Ellen, an ortho nutritionist advised me on what vitamins and minerals the body needs on a daily basis, and what it needs to heal.

I started mixing up superfoods for him to improve his immunity and health - and even put him on a detox (very similar to our current 5-day detox program!).

He had no idea what all these powders and superfoods were - but nevertheless he was adding them to his daily smoothies or simply stirring them into water.

While taking them he started feeling more energized, reduced bloating, improved digestion and gained mental clarity... He was amazed with how much healthier he was feeling so quickly!

Why didn’t more people know about this?

I personally healed my life-long eczema, an auto-immune disease, with superfoods and plant-based eating during the same time period.
